so sorry

I’m sorry this space has been blank for so long; Life has a way of taking over and  ‘hanging on for the ride’ becomes daily reality.  So, not much besides the Essential happens… and that’s where I’ve been for a long while now.  But, that’s the way it goes, and I’m grateful for the lessons learned whilst hanging on!

Hopefully, I will be able to get back to some creative work within the next couple of months. I finally decided I’d had enough of the pain in my thumbs due to arthritis, and had reconstructive surgery on my dominant hand 2 weeks ago. It’s a slow recovery process (several more weeks in a cast and then therapy), but everything seems to be going well so far.  My plan is to have the same procedure on other hand yet this year.  We’ll see!

Anyway, I wanted to check in with those of you who follow this blog and thank you for your loyalty and patience. And to wish you all a wonderful rest of the season!

  1. Sorry I missed your comment Whitney! Recovery is progressing slowly, but I’m told it varies greatly from person to person, with age playing a significant part in the speed of things. But I’m hopeful that I’ll regain the functionality I need in the months to come. Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Teresa, I hope your holiday season was wonderful, and that you have a great 2020 with less pain so you can get back to doing what you love! My mom had one of your carousel horse cross stitches that she did on the was as long as I can remember. She taught me to cross stitch at 8 and I’ve been cross stitching ever since. I too have done one of the carousel horses and I hope to complete the other ones to have a full set!
